The Warsaw Richmond County Chamber of Commerce held a dinner for the local law enforcement officers that protect and serve Richmond County. Over 70 officers and spouses from the Virginia State Police, Warsaw Town Police and Richmond County Sheriff’s Office attended the dinner on Thursday December 11, 2008 at The Crow’s Nest Café in Warsaw. 

After enjoying a wonderful dinner prepared by the Crow’s Nest Café Chamber President Mr. Ronald Alderman presented appreciation awards to Virginia State Police 1st SGT James Ashworth, Warsaw Town Police Chief DeWitt Cooper and Sheriff Douglas Bryant thanking them for their many years of hard work during Warsaw Fest.  Chief Deputy Steve Smith was presented an award from Richmond County Crime Stoppers for organizing the first Gold Tournament for the Crime stoppers. Richmond County Sheriff Douglas A. Bryant then presented Betty Coates with “The Employee of the Year Award”, Deputy Turner Lowery was voted   “Rookie of the Year” and Richard Thomas was presented his award for “Dispatcher of the Year”. The Warsaw-Richmond County Chamber would like to thank all those who came out to show appreciation for our law enforcement officers and a special thanks to Rosa Forrester and Sandra Pierson for organizing the event. The Chamber would also like to thank the employees of Crow’s Nest who worked very hard in preparing this dinner in spite of Mariam breaking her arm that morning.
