Hampton Sheriff B.J. Roberts is proud to announce the latest recruits to graduate from the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy (HRCJTA) in Newport News. They are members of Class 17-2 which completed thirteen weeks of training in July. The class of 37 deputies represents agencies from throughout Hampton Roads and the Middle Peninsula. Deputies must complete more than 488 hours of training that requires each of them to master 424 state mandates of law enforcement training. That training includes defensive tactics and firearms to name a few. Deputy B. Durham was recognized for receiving the highest academic scores during thirteen weeks of rigorous testing.
