The Spring Conference is designed to inform sheriffs and their staff on matters relating to their office that passed during the 2010 session of the General Assembly.
The conference will take place at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center in Roanoke, Virginia and will begin with lunch on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. and conclude before noon on Friday, April 16, 2010. The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute (VSI) is sponsoring the Spring Conference, and this entitles one attendee per Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute member sheriff’s office to four meals (lunch on Wednesday, breakfast and lunch on Thursday, and breakfast on Friday), coffee breaks, two nights at the hotel (room rate $126/night, plus tax) and a conference notebook. If additional people from the sheriff’s office attend, the registration fee is $175. Non-Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute member sheriff’s offices may attend at the $175 registration fee and are responsible for the hotel room cost.
Please note all attendees must make their own hotel reservations by calling the hotel directly at 540-985-5900 or toll free at 866-594-4722 (between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday) and mentioning to the reservation specialist that you need a room under the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute Conference room block or by going online to http://doubletree.hilton.com/en/dt/groups/personalized/ROASWDT-VSI-20100413/index.jhtml?WT.mc_id=POG The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute will reimburse for a maximum of two nights stay ($126/night, room and tax only) through a reimbursement form that will be in each sheriff’s office’s conference registration packet. Please note the hotel cutoff date for hotel reservations is March 16, 2010. If room reservations are made after the cutoff date, the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute will only reimburse the pre-cutoff date amount of $126 per night, plus tax.
Along with making your hotel reservation, you must register with the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute. Please either register online or return the completed registration form to the Institute’s office no later than Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
