Sheriff Ronnie Oakes is pleased to announce the awarding of $1,000 scholarship from the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute to Deangela Stidham of Appalachia. Stidham is part of the 91total scholarships awarded across the Commonwealth to young people pursuing a college degree in criminal justice and attending Virginia colleges and universities.
Deangela is currently attending Mountain Empire Community College and is majoring in police science.
