Sheriff B.J. Roberts recently awarded the 2013 Virginia Sheriff’s Institute Scholarship for $1,000 to Edward Robinson. Robinson is the first college student to receive the VSI scholarship in Hampton. Robinson just completed his freshman year at Hampton University as a Criminal Justice major, successfully making the dean’s list and is the first college student to receive the VSI scholarship in Hampton. He is also a seven year veteran of the US Army receiving numerous medals, citations and commendations for outstanding service stateside and abroad, serving a two year campaign in Iraq.
