Sheriff Leonard partners with Caring Canines
The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office recently began a partnership with Caring Canines, an organization whose goal is to help provide emotional support, comfort, encouragement, enable independence, and experience both the fun and health benefits that dogs bring to our lives. Therapeutic animals entered the Chesterfield County Jail for the first time on October 29. The six Caring Canine volunteers and their dogs spent some time with 30 individuals who participate in the office’s HARP and Bridge programs. Everyone enjoyed their time spent with the canines and were excited to hear that this will be become a monthly event.
