Chesapeake deputies delivered Christmas baskets last week to 100 seniors in need. The baskets were filled with $25-worth of non-perishable food items, courtesy of Walmart. This was the office’s 27th year delivering baskets. One of the recipients was recently the victim of a robbery. A suspect stole $40 from her, shoving her to the ground and injuring her. The office reimbursed her stolen money through EVAP (the Elderly and Indigent Victim Assistance Program). Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan recently stopped by her home to check on her and delivered her basket.
