Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman presented a scholarship certificate to Megan Brown as part of the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute (VSI) scholarship program.
Ms. Brown, a Lovettsville, Va. resident, graduated from Woodgrove High School in June and will be majoring in criminology at Christopher Newport University this fall.
This year, the VSI awarded 78 scholarships to young people across the Commonwealth. The scholarship program, established by the VSI’s Board of Directors, was established to provide an opportunity for students to pursue an educational curriculum in law enforcement or the criminal justice field while attending a Virginia college or university.
The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization that encourages charitable and educational activities among the sheriffs and deputies within the Commonwealth of Virginia to educate the public and to do any and all things to promote the enforcement of law and order and the suppression of crime.
