Hampton Deputy Graduates the Academy

The Hampton Sheriff’s Office proudly announces its latest recruits to graduate from the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy (HRCJTA) in Newport News. They are members of Class 18, which completed thirteen weeks of training in December.

The class of 33 deputies represents agencies from throughout Hampton Roads and the Middle Peninsula. Deputies must complete more than 488 hours of training that requires each of them to master 424 state mandates of law enforcement training. The thirteen weeks of rigorous testing and training in the extreme summer temperatures included defensive tactics, firearms and Emergency Vehicle Operator Class (EVOC) to name a few.
