Ms. Mia Bashore, graduate of New Kent High School, was presented her Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute Scholarship certificate from the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Joe McLaughlin and Chief Deputy Lee Bailey presented Ms. Bashore with her award, while keeping social distancing in mind.
The VSI Scholarship will help further Ms. Bashore’s education in the Criminal Justice field. The scholarship award is in the amount of $1,000.00, with the funds being mailed directly to VCU on behalf of Mia. Ms. Bashore is one of 68 deserving recipients of the VSI Scholarship this year.
 
The New Kent County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute want to congratulate Ms. Mia Bashore on her commitment to her studies. We wish her luck in her continuing education!
