Sheriff Giles Presents VSI Scholarship to student Shane Hagewood

King George Sheriff Giles presents a $1000.00 scholarship check to student Shane Hagewood on behalf of the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute!

Founded in 1981, the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute is a non-profit professional and educational organization. The VSI Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to college students majoring in a Criminal Justice field across Virginia — $1,000 for full-time students and $500 for part-time students. The number of scholarships awarded each year varies depending on the number of eligible students and the amount of money that is raised.  This year VSI awarded scholarships to 66 students across Virginia!

Shane is currently attending Regent University in Virginia Beach and will be spending his summer with King George Sheriff’s Office as part of our summer college internship program.  Best of luck Shane, you have a bright future ahead and we look forward to working with you in the coming weeks!
