Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office sets fundraising record for Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

A new state record has been shattered! More than 70 Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office deputies pounded the pavement on June 9, 2022 for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia (SOVA). Elite Unit Deputy Chad Allen led the way with the Flame of Hope from the Chesapeake City Park to Chesapeake City Hall. With the community’s help, the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office raised a record $12,344 for the non-profit, the most money raised by a single agency in the history of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia! Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan is proud of the incredible effort made by his deputies.
