Supporting Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

It was a busy couple of days for the Newport News Sheriff’s Office as seven deputies graduated from training at the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy.

On November 22, Deputy Coles and Master Deputy Ramos accepted their certificates for completing Basic Law Enforcement School.  They were part of the 34-member Class 22-B, which was comprised of deputies and police officers from agencies across Hampton Roads.

On November 17, newly-certified deputies Deputy P. Beard, Deputy M. Hyatt, Deputy F. Jenkins, Deputy J. Lomax, Deputy B. Maddow, Deputy T. Peterson, and Deputy T. Taylor graduated from Basic Jailor School.  Deputy Taylor was recognized with the Academic Achievement award. Deputy Peterson presented the Class plaque to the instructors.

Many NNSO command staff and co-workers were on hand at both celebrations to say “well done.”
