In October, Franklin County Public Schools – 3rd Grade Classes took a field trip to Waid Park for “Day In The Woods”. Investigator Burton (K9 Khaleesi) and Deputy Huston (K9 Hunter) had a great time interacting with the kids!

2023 HUNTING SEASON IS UPON US
Deer hunting season is set to begin in Franklin County. The Office of the Sheriff posted a few driving tips to be aware of.

BOONES MILL APPLE FESTIVAL HELD
The Boones Mill Apple Festival was held the first Saturday in October this year. This annual event always draws a huge crowd. The sheriff’s office reminded motorists to be aware when travelling thru this area.
PIKE TITLE RIBBON CUTTING
Pike Title opened their Smith Mountain Lake Office this week. Located at 76 Builders Pride Drive, Unit 104 in Hardy, they specialize in real estate closings, title insurance and more. The community welcomed this new business.
Deputy Johnny Huddleston was there to congratulate them on their new expanded location.
TOUCH A TRUCK EVENT HELD
Vitalize Church held their annual Touch A Truck event on 10/7. This event always draws many displays and vehicles.
The Office of the Sheriff was on hand with Deputies Johnny Huddleston and John Lavinder.
Weather was great and event was well received.
CROSSPOINTE CHURCH FALL FESTIVAL
Saturday, Oct 7, Franklin Heights / Crosspointe Campus held their Fall Festival. Praise music, food and friendly activities highlighted a great afternoon.
