For the fourth year in a row, the Newport News Sheriff’s Office (NNSO) has been named a Best for Vets Employer by the Military Times, recognizing its commitment to veterans, reservists, and their families. The NNSO is the only Hampton Roads law enforcement agency to make the list.
“Veterans have many qualities that make them a good fit to join Team NNSO,” said Sheriff Gabe Morgan. “We appreciate their strong work ethic, good character, and their ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.”
The NNSO places value on men and women who want to make a difference in their post-military careers. Like Sheriff Gabe Morgan, an Army veteran, many of our 200+ men and women wore military uniforms before putting on ours. Several staff members currently serve in the Guard/Reserves.
The voluntary survey efforts to recruit military-connected personnel and policies that help them succeed as they transition to civilian careers.
Sheriff Morgan added. “We are hiring for the position of deputy sheriff, and we welcome applications from transitioning military, military spouses, veterans, and reservists.”
