Congratulations to Master Deputy M. Davis who was recognized as Deputy of the Year by VFW Tidewater Post 4809 during their 59th Annual Community Activities Awards Program. Master Deputy Davis was honored for her outstanding work with a family during the holiday season.

In November 2023, upon learning of a family facing eviction and the mother battling stage four cancer, Master Deputy Davis spearheaded efforts to help the family. Master Deputy Davis and NSO staff in the Courthouse provided Thanksgiving dinner to the family and made plans to purchase toys and food for the family for Christmas. Unfortunately, just before the Christmas holiday, the mother passed away leaving behind four children ranging in age from 4-11. In hopes of making the children’s holiday a little more special, Master Deputy Davis and the court staff continued on their mission to help the family and purchased gifts and food for the children.

Thank you to Master Deputy Davis and everyone involved in making a difference in the lives of this family, And thank you to VFW Post 4809 for recognizing Master Deputy Davis’ dedication, care, and compassion for others.
