We are proud to announce that the Richmond City Sheriff’s Office has achieved VisitAble’s Advocate Certification, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to serving the Richmond community. This certification reflects our dedication to enhancing accessibility and inclusivity throughout our services.
At the Richmond City Sheriff’s Office, we take pride in our public safety responsibilities, which include maintaining a secure jail, ensuring the safety of the court system, and managing inmate transport and civil processes. Our mission extends beyond these essential duties, as we strive to support returning citizens in reducing recidivism through a variety of faith-based and community programs. These initiatives are designed to help individuals successfully reintegrate into society.
Our partnership with VisitAble has helped us increase disability awareness across our team. Together, we have trained more than 245 personnel, equipping them with the skills needed to foster an inclusive environment that respects and supports people of all abilities. We believe that this training will not only enhance our operations but also contribute to the broader growth and inclusivity of the Richmond community.
