Supporting Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

The Norfolk Sheriff’s Office recently hosted its 5th Annual Senior Fest, a senior support services seminar, and welcomed more than 700 senior citizens and 100 vendors to Chartway Arena for a day full of information and fun.

This free event was open to residents 55 and older living in Norfolk. Throughout the event, citizens interacted with elected officials, visited vendors and learned about resources available to them in our community. After visiting with vendors, attendees enjoyed a free lunch and entertainment.

Sheriff Baron welcomed everyone to the event and spoke to them briefly about a scam we are seeing in our community and how they can protect themselves.

Shawn Smith from Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol was this year’s guest speaker who spoke to the crowd about protecting themselves from Medicare scams.

This year’s event was the largest luncheon ever hosted at Chartway Arena, and it also included more than 25 elected officials who met and spoke with attendees.

The Norfolk Sheriff’s Office is already looking forward to next year’s Senior Fest.
