Kids and Christmas go hand in hand. Newport News Sheriff’s Office deputies joined forces with Newport News police officers to take 32 deserving children shopping.
Santa arrived to say Merry Christmas and kick off the annual Shop With A Cop. Sponsored by Newport News FOP Lodge #25, each child received $250 to spend. They walked up and down the aisles and eyed toys on the shelves as they searched find the perfect gifts. Some bought for themselves and their families; others returned money they didn’t spend.
The children were all smiles knowing that presents will be under the tree Christmas Day.
It truly is the spirit of giving that defines this holiday season.
