The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office is a proud supporter Special Olympics Virginia, recently taking part in two incredible events celebrating these inspiring athletes.
Saturday, February 8th, Sheriff Leonard and other Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office members – Team Supercicles – plunged into the Virginia Beach waters for the annual Special Olympics Virginia Beach Polar Plunge. The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has participated in this event for more than 12 years. Sheriff’s Office employees, family and friends were ready to Go All In to raise money and support for more than 23,000 amazing Special Olympics athletes. This year, the team raised $33,434 dollars for Special Olympics. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported our team.
The last weekend in February, Sheriff Leonard and members of the Sheriff’s Office had the honor of joining the Special Olympics Virginia Basketball Championship for the Opening Ceremony and Awards Celebration. It was an unforgettable experience, celebrating the hard work, determination, and sportsmanship of every athlete who took the court.
Supporting Special Olympics Virginia is a tradition the Sheriff’s Office is proud to continue, and we’re grateful for everyone who donates, participates, and cheers on these incredible athletes.
