On Saturday, May 3, 2025, King George Sheriff’s Office deputies and staff joined family members and community participants for a spirited morning of fitness and fundraising at Creekside Farm Brewery in support of the Virginia Special Olympics.
More than 40 runners and walkers braved summer-like heat and hilly terrain to complete a 5K as part of the annual Virginia Special Olympics Torch Run. The event raised more than $5,000 to help send Virginia athletes to compete in the Special Olympics Games in Orlando.
The Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere gratitude to Creekside Farm Brewery, Pizza Napoli, and Preacher Dave’s BBQ, who generously donated a portion of their proceeds to the cause. Thanks also go to the many additional sponsors and supporters who helped make the day a success.
Events like this reflect the commitment of local law enforcement and community partners to supporting inclusion, empowerment, and athletic achievement for all.
