Supporting Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

Spring has officially sprung in our garden! Master Deputy Simien and participants in our Horticulture Program are hard at work preparing for another season of growth and giving. This spring, we’re cultivating a vibrant variety of produce including collard greens, carrots, raspberries, blueberries, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet peppers, beans, and cucumbers — and more!

In just a few months, our community partner, Healthy Chesapeake, will collect the fresh harvest and distribute it to individuals and families in need. We’re proud of the hands-on work being done and the real impact it’s having across our community. Stay tuned for more updates and garden photos throughout the season!

Meanwhile, we recently celebrated a special birthday — help us wish a paws-itively amazing day to K9 Merlin! At just 2 years old, Merlin has already become a valued member of our team, bringing sharp skills, unwavering loyalty, and plenty of tail wags to the job every day. Whether he’s assisting on duty or making new friends in the community, Merlin is a true asset to the CSO family. Here’s to many more years of service, treats, and belly rubs!

Finally, we’re grateful for the continued collaboration with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — and especially appreciative of the recognition from the ICE Washington D.C. and Virginia field offices. After sharing the update on X, we wanted to bring it here, too. We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to strengthening this partnership, all with Sheriff Rosado’s goal of keeping our community safe.
