On Saturday, April 26, 2025, Sheriff Vanessa R. Crawford and the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office proudly hosted the much-anticipated Mother and Son Sneaker Dance at the Petersburg Public Library.
The event brought together dozens of families from across the community for an evening of fun, fashion, and family bonding.
Mothers and their sons arrived in style, showcasing their favorite sneakers while enjoying music, dancing, refreshments, and interactive games. The event aimed to strengthen family ties and promote positive community engagement in a relaxed and joyful environment.
“The energy in the room was truly inspiring,” said Sheriff Vanessa R. Crawford. “Seeing mothers and sons laughing, dancing, and simply enjoying each other’s company reminded us of the power of community and the importance of nurturing our families. This event wasn’t just about sneakers—it was about love, connection, and creating memories that last a lifetime.”
The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office has long been committed to initiatives that build community trust and encourage family involvement. The success of the Sneaker Dance adds to a growing list of outreach efforts designed to uplift and engage local residents of all ages.
Sheriff Crawford and her team extend their heartfelt thanks to the Petersburg Public Library for hosting the event and to all of the families who participated in making the evening unforgettable.
