The Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office was honored to spend time with the Veterans of the Friendship Retirement Community of the Roanoke Valley during a special lunchtime visit.
Deputies served hot dogs and hamburgers before sitting down to share a meal and heartfelt conversations with the residents. Among those in attendance were two World War II Veterans whose stories offered a powerful reminder of sacrifice, courage, and service.
Sheriff Joseph Orange and a few deputies also reflected on their own time in the Armed Forces, creating a meaningful exchange between generations of service members.
Now in its second year, this visit has become a cherished tradition that the Sheriff’s Office hopes will continue.
