In celebration of Mother’s Day, Sheriff Vanessa Crawford and the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office visited the Petersburg Home for Ladies to honor and uplift some of the city’s most cherished citizens. During the visit, each resident received a small token of appreciation, a gesture to remind them that they are valued, remembered, and loved. It was an honor for Sheriff Crawford and her team to spend time with the ladies, whose wisdom and grace continue to enrich the community.
The visit is just one example of how the Sheriff’s Office remains committed to community engagement and to recognizing the contributions of Petersburg’s senior residents.
The Petersburg Home for Ladies is known for its warm, nurturing environment and its steadfast mission to provide security, companionship, care, and love. With the lowest resident-to-staff ratio in Central Virginia, the Home offers a level of elegant living and exceptional care that is truly unparalleled in the region. A licensed nurse is on-site 24 hours a day, and certified nursing aides provide daily personal care with compassion and dignity. The Home’s specialized memory care unit, Magnolia Hall, offers additional support with a dedicated staffing ratio of no less than one licensed caregiver for every four residents, allowing for highly personalized, attentive care.
Petersburg Sheriff’s Office is proud to support institutions like the Home that share its values of service, dignity, and compassion.
