Chief of Police Jim Hopper wasn’t available for this “Stranger Things” call, so Stafford County Sheriff’s Deputy Peterson came to the rescue.
Earlier this week, a resident on Andrew Chapel Road reported strange noises coming from inside their chimney. Deputy Peterson was able to carefully reach past the flue and retrieve a Cooper’s Hawk we’ve affectionately named Wingnona Ryder.
We’re happy to report Wingnona was uninjured, and her frown turned “upside down” as she was released back into the wild. Much like Santa, Deputy Peterson’s uniform was left tarnished with ashes and soot.
