Supporting Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce a new partnership with ConfirmOk, a premier automated check-in service designed to protect our senior citizens and vulnerable populations.

As we look toward the future, the need for such a service is clear. By the end of 2026, the U.S. Census Bureau projects that 58 million Americans will be 65 or older—and nearly 16 million of them will live alone. Furthermore, AARP reports that the average caregiver now lives more than an hour away from their loved ones, leaving many residents without immediate daily support.

ConfirmOk bridges this gap by turning a simple question—“Are you OK today?”—into a life-saving technology.

Who Benefits from ConfirmOk?**

  • Seniors living independently
  • Long-distance caregivers
  • Individuals with chronic conditions or disabilities
  • Domestic violence survivors
  • Public safety agencies and senior housing communities

How the Service Works:

ConfirmOk is designed for real-world accessibility. No smartphone or internet connection is required; the service works with any phone. Users enjoy flexible, customizable scheduling where they choose their preferred check-in times. Schedules can vary by day, be paused during travel, or adjusted seasonally to fit the user’s lifestyle.

If a user does not respond to their scheduled check-in, the platform immediately alerts unlimited designated care contacts and infrastructure, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks.

“Whether you are protecting one parent or managing a community of thousands, ConfirmOk provides the peace of mind that families deserve,” said Sheriff Vanessa Crawford. “In 2026 and beyond, the question is not whether you need an automated check-in service—it is whether you can afford to wait another day without one.”

For more information on how to enroll in this service, please contact Sheriff Vanessa R. Crawford or the staff at the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office at 804-733-2369.
