The Danville Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Danville Pittsylvania Community Services, held its first community involved Alpha Program graduation ceremony Wednesday, December 10, at the James F. Ingram Justice Center (Danville Courthouse). Rachelle Grogan, Ashley Okervall, and Adrienne Toomer completed the 14-week outpatient program that includes services for substance abuse while incarcerated with a goal of regaining purpose in their lives. The Honorable Judge Reynolds addressed the graduates reminding them of the importance to utilize the skills they have learned along their journeys. Family members and friends of the graduates came out to support their loved ones and share in their celebration of achievement. The Danville Sheriff’s Office extends a gratitude filled thank you to all those behind the scenes making this event memorable for all involved. A special thanks to Carrington Chambers (DPCS), Captain Carrington Petty (Danville Sheriff’s Office), Major Steve Martin (Danville Sheriff’s Office), Crystal Holley (Danville Sheriff’s Office), Kristy Beasley (Danville Sheriff’s Office), and the many staff members who assisted in making this program a success.
