The Richmond City Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) staff joined the Richmond Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in local school celebrations for Read Across America. Staff read books aloud to classrooms, answered students’ questions about law enforcement, and encouraged young readers to celebrate the joy of reading.
Read Across America is a nationwide initiative that highlights the value of reading and learning. By taking part in this event, RCSO staff were able to connect with students in a positive setting while supporting teachers and staff in their efforts to build strong literacy skills.
The RCSO is proud to support programs that strengthen relationships with the community and inspire the next generation of readers and leaders.
