The Richmond City Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) and Virginia State University (VSU) recently came together for the “Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers” discussion, fostering open dialogue between scholars, practitioners, and law enforcement.
The event brought students, faculty, and officers into a shared space focused to learn more about internship opportunities, recruitment processes, career pathways, and specialized units within agencies. A key component this year was dedicated to actionable strategies to bridge gaps and enhance relationships and interactions between law enforcement agencies and minority communities.
