In recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, members of the Richmond City Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) joined the Richmond leadership and community members in Richmond area neighborhoods (identified as “Hot Spots”) for the “Local Day Out” event dedicated to promoting safety, awareness, and unity.
Attendees enjoyed activities, educational resources, food and conversations focused on building safer neighborhoods for everyone. RCSO staff were on hand to interact with residents, share safety information, and strengthen relationships with community members. Additionally, for gun safety, gun safety locks and safety boxes were distributed to residents.
National Gun Violence Awareness Day serves as a reminder of the collective role communities play in preventing gun violence and supporting those affected by it. RCSO remains committed to working alongside local partners and residents to promote public safety and enhance the quality of life throughout the community.
