The Hampton Sheriff’s Office has been busy this spring, engaging with the community through a variety of events focused on connection, prevention, and education.
From the Malvern Easter Egg Hunt to the soulful Harmony in the Park concert, Sheriff Bowden and her team joined in the seasonal celebrations to connect with families and residents. They also participated in the Port of Virginia’s SWaM event, showcasing hiring opportunities and talking with attendees about what it means to serve with the Hampton Sheriff’s Office.
In recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Office took part in the Walk for Child Abuse Prevention on April 1, planting pinwheels as a symbol of hope and raising awareness for children’s safety and well-being.
Additionally, in partnership with the Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities, the Sheriff’s Office provided a powerful educational experience for eight young adults. Participants were paired with mentors as they walked through the realities of incarceration, helping foster understanding and offering guidance for brighter futures.
Through all of these efforts, the Hampton Sheriff’s Office continues to demonstrate its commitment to building relationships, supporting youth, and creating a safer, stronger community.
