Neither heat, nor humidity, nor accident scene prevented the delivery of packages in Stafford County Saturday morning thanks to Deputy S.A. Russo.
On July 26th at 9:05 a.m., Deputy W.J. Walker and Deputy Russo responded to a serious auto accident at the intersection of Poplar Road and Janney Drive. The investigation revealed a grey Kia Seltos disregarded the stop sign on Janney Drive and T-boned a black Toyota Sienna on Poplar Road. The impact caused the Toyota to overturn several times, ending up on the shoulder of the roadway. The roadway was closed for a little over an hour for the investigation and cleanup.
Both drivers were transported to the hospital for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle, but the Kia did have two Amazon packages slated for delivery in nearby Seven Lakes.
While Deputy Walker responded to the hospital to complete the investigation and issue a reckless driving summons, Deputy Russo delivered the two remaining packages. The residents were pleasantly surprised to have their parcels delivered by such a handsome mail escort.
