The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has been busy this month, making its mark in the community and far beyond it. From national stages to the soccer field, Sheriff Karl Leonard and his team continue to find creative ways to engage, educate, and connect.
On Display
The Sheriff’s Office’s connection with country artist Jelly Roll continues to inspire. What began with a viral TikTok from the HARP program, tagging Jelly Roll in one of their “Tapping Tuesday” videos, has grown into a lasting partnership focused on recovery and second chances. Their shared work and impact are now recognized with a display at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
At the Podium
Sheriff Karl Leonard recently addressed students at Georgetown University as part of a Mobilize Recovery Campus Surge event focused on overdose prevention. He also spoke with cadets at Benedictine College Preparatory.
On the Field
On Saturday, October 4, the annual First Responders Cultural Festival and Community Cup was held at River City Sports Complex. First responder soccer teams from Henrico, Chesterfield, Richmond, Fire, Police, and Sheriff Departments, as well as the State Police, took the field. Each team was comprised of public safety personnel and community members. While unity and having fun was the mission, winning the trophy was also on the line. The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office team played hard and proudly represented their community in a day of friendly competition and connection.
