After more than three decades of unwavering dedication, Captain Derek Emmel has officially retired.
For 31 years, Captain Emmel has been a pillar of the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office. From modernizing our courthouse security to spending 18 incredible years in the K-9 unit with four different K-9 partners, his impact on this agency is immeasurable.
We want to extend a massive thank you to his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Faith, Logan, and Dylan, for their endless support over the last three decades. Thank you for your leadership, service, and dedication to the citizens of Culpeper, Captain Emmel. You will be missed!
