Earlier this week, Norfolk Sheriff’s Office personnel visited with Ms. Yvonne Midgette to wish her a Happy 100th Birthday. While Ms. Midgette knew sheriff’s office staff would be stopping by she was surprised (and elated) to see so many people and local media there for her special birthday! Sheriff Baron, Lieutenant Colonel Adams, staff from the NSO Civil Process Division and Community Affairs were all in attendance to celebrate her, gifting her with cakes, bouquets of flowers, balloons, and a teddy bear!
Ms. Midgette is part of the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office Senior Watch Program. Citizens who are registered through the Senior Watch Program often live independently in senior facilities and typically do not have family living in the area. Deputies stop by once a month and throughout the holiday season to visit with them and make sure they have everything they need.
