On June 8, 2026, New Kent County Sheriff Lee Bailey had the honor of presenting Victoria Carey with a Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute (VSI) Scholarship Certificate.
Ms. Carey is the 2026 New Kent recipient of the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute $1,000 scholarship. The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute scholarship program was established to provide opportunities for individuals across Virginia to pursue educational studies in law enforcement or criminal justice.
Ms. Carey will be attending George Mason University to continue her education.
