Wise County Sheriff Ronnie Oaks has selected Robert Stidham of Appalachia, VA for a Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute scholarship. Sheriff Oaks presented Robert with a check for $1,000 payable to Mountain Empire Community College. The VSI Scholarship Program was established to provide an opportunity for young people across Virginia to pursue an educational curriculum in law enforcement or criminal justice while attending a Virginia college or university.
