Supporting Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

Join or renew your membership in the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute (VSI) is funded primarily by citizens and businesses throughout Virginia who want to support training and educational programs for sheriffs and their deputies to give them the tools they need to do their jobs more effectively, as well as provide scholarship programs and community services to people and organizations throughout the Commonwealth.  The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute is a non-profit 501(c)(3); your dues and/or contribution to the VSI are tax deductible.

Here are some of the programs that VSI supports – real time information and training to Sheriffs’ offices…a scholarship program for young people throughout Virginia who major in Criminal Justices…support to the families of deputies or sheriffs killed in the line of duty, in an effort to relieve personal and community distress relating to such incidents…and training for the public.

Individuals who want to show support of the VSI can join for $25 a year.  Businesses can join and renew their membership for $40 a year.  There are also numerous other special appeals that you can contribute to as well.

When you join or renew your membership in the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute, you will receive a membership identification card, bumper stickers and decals for your car and a subscription to our quarterly newsletter keeping you informed of the latest public safety news.

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute meets all twenty standards of charity accountability of the Better Business Bureau.
