Sheriff C.T. Woody, Jr. is proud to announce a continuing partnership with 106.5 The Beat which will enable 25 families of residents at the Richmond City Justice Center (RCJC) to have a full and bountiful Thanksgiving meal.
On November 22, Sheriff Woody and DJ Mike Street delivered turkeys and other Thanksgiving fixings to 25 families who have loved ones spending the holiday at the RCJC.
“I’m very happy to be teaming up with Mike Street again to make sure families in Richmond have the best possible Thanksgiving,” said Sheriff Woody. “I have many blessings in my life, and as a Sheriff and a man, I feel it’s my responsibility to do what I can to share those blessings with others. When individuals are in a position to give back, we should. It’s the right thing to do, especially during the Holiday Season.”
Mike Street is in full agreement. “We appreciate the opportunity to team with the Sheriff’s Office in providing Thanksgiving meals to some of our neighbors who may not otherwise have been able to partake. We must also thank the generosity of Mr. Steve Harvey for continuously supporting his extended Richmond family and being a great humanitarian.”
In addition to the 25 families Sheriff Woody and Mike Street visited, 40 other families of RCJC residents have been ‘adopted’ by Richmond City Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) staff and volunteers. Just as the previous 25 families, these 40 sponsored families will receive a Thanksgiving meal courtesy of an RCSO employee or volunteer, which will be delivered to them by RCSO staff or volunteers.
