On April 28, 2017, the students who arrived at Franklin County High School saw an interesting scene. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Rocky Mount Police Department partnered to stage a mock DUI scene. The demonstration was to remind student drivers about the dangers of impaired driving, especially with prom weekend upcoming. Student actors did a fantastic job as they went through a probable cause traffic stop, field sobriety testing and finally being placed under arrest. Thanks everyone at the RMPD, Franklin County High School and Brian McClung (FCHS teacher) for their assistance once again. Sheriff Bill Overton as well as the Franklin County deputies and staff want everyone to arrive home safe to their families.
