The Newport News Sheriff’s Office put a team together for this year’s Pull for Pink, a truck pull to benefit breast cancer research. This annual event, hosted by the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office, was held on Saturday, October 19th
NNSO’s team, called Cuffing Cancer, was the only group from the Peninsula and drew the 15th pull slot. When it was their time, the deputies showed their muscle by pulling the Chesapeake Fire Department’s pink cancer awareness truck 12 feet in 7.31 seconds. When all 32 teams had pulled, the NNSO team finished 10th in the field.
It was a great event with friendly rivalry and, most importantly, it raised money for the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation’s breast cancer research.
