Franklin Sheriff’s Office Warns of Public of Possible Scam

The Franklin County Sheriff Office answered a call recently and discovered a potential scam. A resident said that a person promised to pave their driveway. Money was exchanged and the driveway was just partially finished. Now, the resident cannot contact or find the paver. The Sheriff’s Office urges residents to see and photograph workers’ business licenses and to check the legitimacy of workers before hiring or paying them.

Thank you for such a special night last night!

The 2019 winners were: Joanna Gruver, Haywood’s Jewelers (Business of the Year), Sheila Silverstein, Harvester Performance Center (Tourism Advocate of the Year). Back row, from left, W.Q. “Bill” Overton, Jr., Franklin County Sheriff (Leader of the Year); Ryan Cappellari and Bruce Shelton, Capps Home Building Center (Business of the Decade)
