Sheriff’s Office Holds CRASE Training for Capp’s Home Building Center

Recently, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Darryl King held a Citizen Response to an Active Shooter Event (CRASE) training for the employees of Capp’s Home Building Center, Westlake. Sheriff Bill Overton said, “We bring these types of training to Franklin County businesses, civic groups, non-profits, churches, and other group settings in order to educate our residents in the event of a tragic incident. Ask yourself: what would you do in an Active Shooter Event? Hopefully, everyone learns how to respond to this question upon leaving the session. Thanks to all the management and staff at Capp’s for making this a priority.”

If your group is interested in a CRASE class, email Sergeant Darryl King or contact him via phone at 540-483-6850.

Girl Scout Troop Visits Sheriff’s Office

Girl Scout Troop 8456 made a visit to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. They were given a tour of the E911 Communications Center and Patrol areas, as well as a tour of a patrol vehicle. They also had the opportunity to learn about the jail and booking areas.

These girls were also awesome Girl Scout Cookie Salespersons! The sheriff’s office had a great time hosting these visitors!
