WOODMENLIFE NAMES SGT. ANTHONY HODGES

WoodmenLife Representative Lisa Landes recognized Sgt. Anthony Hodges for the month of May 2021.

Sgt. Hodges has been a volunteer and a giver most of his life. As medical officer for the Franklin County Jail, Anthony’s job got a little more intense during the COVID outbreak. With his additional training with the rescue squad it put him in the position to focus on the health and wellbeing of the inmates at the jail over and above his other responsibilities with the sheriff’s office.  He was so very dedicated to staying on top of the guidelines and the protective measures and the constant changes with the CDC guidelines.  He wanted to help insure the inmates were cared for and testing completed for not only the inmates but also other staff members.

Congratulations to Sgt. Anthony Hodges as the WoodmenLife Award recipient.

LIGHTHOUSE BIBLE CHURCH HOLDS LAW ENFORCEMENT EVENT

Back in 2020, Lighthouse Bible Church, in Vinton, had area law enforcement agencies sign large police “Thin Blue Line” flags. The Office of the Sheriff participated in that signing.

On Sunday, May 30th, LBC held a huge Memorial Day Service plus, had a special event to honor law enforcement . They also provided a meal after the service for all police officers and their families.

Sgt. Steve Grantham and Deputy Carter Santrock were our representatives.

We thank Pastor Jay Richards, Administrative Pastor Josh Cunningham, Leon Caldwell (our contact person), the congregation of LBC and all the other L. E. agencies who joined in this wonderful project.

It was a very special blessing to be a part of this service.
