Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute Scholarship Awarded

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute Scholarship Award was presented to Tatianna Harper last week.  Tatianna is finishing up a Criminal Justice Degree focusing on a law enforcement career.  Sheriff Bill Overton presented her with the award and said, “We are so proud of Tatianna’s desire to seek a career in law enforcement. She has worked hard toward these studies and we are honored to be presenting her with this $1000 scholarship.”

Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has Message for Motorcyclists

The DMV is reminding motorcyclists to “Ride With Your Proper Gear”.  Many cyclists suffer worse injuries caused by not wearing the full package of riding gear.  The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office joins DMV in encouraging all motorcyclists to watch this short video and please ride safely.

Sheriff’s Office Participates in ‘Touch a Truck’ Event

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office attending a ‘Touch A Truck’ Event in Westlake last weekend hosted Vitalize Church. FCSO was there with K9’s, crime scene robot, patrol vehicles and more. We had a great time interacting with the community.
