Sheriff, Karen Bowden and U. S. Army, Lieutenant Colonel Erik Peterson, signed an agreement in February that will help soldiers find employment after completing service. The PaYS Program is a strategic partnership between the Army and a cross section of private industry, academia and state and local public institutes. The PaYS Program provides America’s youth with the unique opportunity to simultaneously serve their country and prepare for their future. The PaYS Program guarantees Soldiers a job interview and possible employment after the Army with the Hampton Sheriff’s Office.
“We are honored to be a PaYS partner employer and are excited about the opportunity it provides our company as we support the men and women who have sacrificed for this great country. We look forward to having them join our team,” says Bowden. Sheriff Bowden was joined by Hampton Mayor, Donnie Tuck and Hampton Commonwealth Attorney, Anton Bell and approximately 30 soldiers, Sheriff Deputies, Hampton Citizens and staffers at Hampton’s Council Chambers to celebrate this amazing partnership. Hampton Sheriff’s Honor Guard presented colors.
