Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office presents VSI scholarship certificates to recipients
On May 24, 2022, Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan presented the Chesapeake recipients of the VSI scholarship with their certificates. College students Colby Mutter and Emma Compton were awarded with a $1,000 scholarship certificate. The Virginia Sheriffs’ Scholarship program was established to provide an opportunity for young people across Virginia to pursue an education in criminal justice. Accordingly, the Board of Directors has established the application process for students to receive scholarships to assist in their educational endeavors.
 

CSO Coffee & Donuts
On May 18, 2022, Grassfield High School hosted a “Coffee & Donuts” event in honor of Police Week. All local sheriff’s deputies and police officers were invited to the school to interact with students and faculty. 

CSO continues “Cover the Cruiser” fundraiser to support Special Olympics Virginia
On May 20, 2022, Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office deputies volunteered their time for a Cover the Cruiser event at a local WaWa. The event raised money for Special Olympics Virginia ahead of the Law Enforcement Torch Run (June 9, 2022). CSO is also collecting donations online at https://impact.specialolympicsva.org/team/421422
