Sheriff J. Eric Orange is proud to announce the promotion of Lt. Stacy Olsson to the rank of Captain. On May 1, she became the first female deputy in the history of the Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office to attain the rank of Captain. She will be assigned duties as the jail administrator. CPT Stacy Olsson has been a member of the Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office since 2008. She has served as a supervisor in the jail, courthouse, and services division. She has certifications in the SCAN method, REID School of Interview and Interrogation, PREA Investigations, Front Line Supervisors, Applied Leadership Principles, FBI LEEDA Executive Level Leadership, Batten Leadership Institute, and the Professional Executive Leadership School. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida with two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology, with a minor in Sociology. She also earned Undergraduate Certificates in Behavioral Forensics, Criminal Profiling, and Crime Scene Investigation. While at UCF, she was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society and the Phi Kappa Phi Honour Society. She is currently attending Liberty University in the Master of Arts Executive Leadership Program, where she became member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society and the Omega Nu Lambda Honor Society.
