On December 13, 2022, the Crater Criminal Justice Training Academy graduated it’s 105th class of trained recruits. The ceremony was held at the Hopewell Moose Lodge in Hopewell, Virginia. The Academy which is located in Disputanta, Virginia, offers training in the fields of law enforcement, jail officer, civil process and courtroom security, dispatching, animal control and related public safety disciplines. Fifteen recruits graduated from this class. The class consisted of six different agencies.

The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the graduation of Deputy D. Evans who attended 12 weeks of training. She served as the class chaplain during the 12-week period. Accolades were given in two areas of training which were academics and firearms. At the end of the graduation the recruits all recited the code of ethics. The code of ethics speaks to the high standard of professionalism and commitment of the trained professional leaving the academy.
